4 Ideas for the Perfect Up North Romantic Getaway

Once you’ve booked your stay up north, it’s time to get planning. On your day of travel, be sure to take your time getting here. Enjoy the trip! Stop along the way and make a day of it.

After you’ve arrived, kick back and enjoy the evening views of White Lake. Order dinner in, or perhaps go out on the town to grab a meal. Then rest up for your beautiful day ahead.

After a restful night’s sleep, stroll just a few blocks over to Montague’s own independent bookstore, the Book Nook & Java Shop. Here, you’ll find tasty morning treats, a full menu of delicious lattes, and books and gifts galore.

Relax with your sweetheart and enjoy a cozy morning before heading out to discover the area. There are more shops and hideaways to enjoy in downtown Montague, or if the weather permits, you can even take a stroll over to downtown Whitehall for further exploration on foot!

2. When afternoon rolls around: Have an adventure.

For some, a romantic getaway adventure might be snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or ice skating. And if that’s the case, be sure to head to the nearby Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park. This park has everything you’ll need for exciting outdoor winter fun — if you’re feeling brave, you’ve got to try the luge!

For others who may prefer to stay indoors, that might mean taking time to discover more of the unique shops and galleries in and around downtown Montague and Whitehall.

Fetch Brewing Company is located in Whitehall, and North Grove Brewers is a Montague favorite.
