The month of April is packed with live musical entertainment, and there’s something for everyone. For the perfect romantic getaway, stay with us for the weekend, and pick a night to head out for a live performance. Afterward, grab dinner and drinks at one of our fine local establishments to make it a cozy little weekend for two.

White Lake Guitar Fest

Saturday, April 23
9 am – 9 pm

Play the guitar? Want to learn? Whether you’re an absolute beginner or just want to improve your skills, Guitar Fest is for you! This day is packed with workshops, giveaways, and performances—all centered around guitar. Classes teach a range of topics from the basics of playing, to soloing in any key, to incorporating technology into your practice.

Workshops will run hourly from 10 am to 5 pm at the Book Nook and Java Shop (with registration at-the-door beginning at 9 am). To ensure your spot, pre-registration is encouraged! Cost is $35 if you pre-register or $40 at the door. You can register online at www.artswhitelake.org or through the Arts Council of White Lake in Whitehall.

Neal Jacobs in Concert

To end Guitar Fest and a day full of music education and collaboration, there will be a live performance by the talented musician, Neil Jacobs. Jacobs is a master of the acoustic 12 string guitar and specializes in a range of musical genres, from Gypsy and Balkan Folk to Fingerstyle and Jazz. He derives his unique playing style from his extensive travels and decades of experience in musical innovation.

Infinitus String Trio: Beatbox

Ever heard of beatboxing string music? This exciting form of composition, which combines hip-hop and jazz arrangements with classical standards, is truly unique to Infinitus, a critically acclaimed trio of musicians from Vancouver. If you’re in the mood for music that’s unique and off the beaten path, Infinitus String Trio: Beatbox is a great way to open your eyes to new artistic possibilities. Tickets are $20 and up, with $10 student tickets available. Doors and bar open at 6:30 pm.

Echoes of Pink Floyd

Echoes of Pink Floyd are no stranger to the Howmet Playhouse, having completely sold out their last two shows. These performances are sure to be another example of their amazing skill and showmanship as they will not only feature classic and rarity covers from Pink Floyd but also a Laser-Light Show! Come see Echoes of Pink Floyd in all their glory. Beer and wine will also be sold, courtesy of FETCH Brewing. $20 tickets per show or $35 for a two-day package.

Civil Service Fair

For a fun-filled day of parades, activities, games, crafts and live music, check out the Civil Service Fair put on by Double JJ Resort! This fair honors public service in our community. All day Saturday, April 30th, you can enjoy a range of activities and events—something for the whole family! In the evening, be sure and stay for live musical entertainment and a beer tent.
