About the Tour
The Depot to Depot Color Tour is a self-guided driving or biking tour that takes you down beautiful winding roads and trails and features spectacular views of Lake Michigan and the surrounding rolling hills and landscapes. The tour is “scheduled” for the Saturdays between October 6th and October 20th because these are the absolute best times to see the fall colors in our neck of the woods.
To start the Depot to Depot Color Tour, head to either depot (White Lake or Muskegon) and pick up a map. The map features the scenic route you can take to get to the other depot as well as numerous historic sites and attractions of interest along the way. Most of these sites offer stamps to show you visited. If you get enough stamps (10) in your tour map, you’ll be put into a raffle to win one of two great prizes:
- Lake Express tickets (Lake Michigan ferry between Muskegon and Milwaukee)
- Michigan’s Adventure Amusement Park tickets
En route, discounts and specials at some of the best sites, shops, and eateries in the region will also be available:
- 40% off 1 lb. of Irish Cheddar at The Cheese Lady (with map)
- 20% off gifts & clothing at Pitkin Drug & Gift Shop (with map)
- FREE small root beer float at Montague Dog-N-Suds (with food purchase and map)
- Just a $3 admission fee at White River Light Station Museum
- Donut samples before closing at Morat’s Bakery
- And more! View a full listing of available Depot to Depot specials.
