Depot to Depot Fall Color Tour 2017 in Muskegon County
Numerous scenic routes wind through Northern Michigan and are great for viewing the lovely changing fall foliage.
But at The Weathervane Inn, we like to think that no other place in Michigan quite compares to White Lake when it comes to the vibrant beauty, calmness, and relaxation of fall.
Whether you’re planning a fun getaway for you and your family or a relaxing romantic vacation, you’ll get the best views of the changing fall colors by staying in White Lake. And there’s no better way to experience the colors than by taking the annual Depot-to-Depot Fall Color Tour.

About the Tour
The Depot-to-Depot Color Tour is a self-guided tour that takes you down beautiful winding roads and trails and features spectacular views of Lake Michigan and the surrounding rolling hills. On route, there will also be opportunities to visit some of the area’s most interesting historic sites.
The tour is “scheduled” for the Saturdays between October 7th and October 28th because first, these are absolutely the best times to see the fall colors in our neck of the woods, and second, we wanted to add a bit of extra fun to enjoying the fall colors.
So on every Saturday in October when the Depot-to-Depot tour is “scheduled” (October 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th), there will be some extra activities to enjoy as well.
From 10am to 4pm on these days, both depots will have maps of the tour available, information about winning prizes, refreshments, and for kids: pumpkin decorating (with free pumpkins while they last!).
If you get enough stamps in your tour map, you may be eligible for prizes!
You’ll need your map to see the designated stop sites where you can get these stamps (maps are available at both union depots). And with the required number of stamps, you’ll be entered to win one of several prizes that will be available.
In past years, these have included free passes to Michigan’s Adventure and tickets for the Lake Express Ferry, which takes passengers back and forth between Muskegon, Michigan and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Lake Michigan.
